‘I do’ - two hugely meaningful words that so many of our brides have been patiently waiting, longing to finally say. It's so good to see you all planning again, visiting for fittings and getting excited again about your special day!
Since re-opening in April we have styled and made sooooo many SOMD brides wedding ready! Saying goodbye over the summer was so bitter sweet as we absolutely love the journey with our brides here but finally being able to see them off to marry their loves is just the best feeling.
In August this year, one of our custom SOMD brides Polly became Mrs Kirk; you may recognise her husband William from the 'Repair show'. The couple had to postpone their wedding last year due to the pandemic like many of you. Polly choose Effie, from our very own SOMD collection and made it her own by working with us and changing the sleeve design. Effie has the prettiest polka dot corded lace with a completely sheer back panel at and train. Just so beautiful and so chic!
We feel so lucky to be a part of all our SOMD brides journey's here with us, something we never take for granted and stive to give you the best experience possible.
If you are saying those two magic words soon and you are an SOMD Bride, please don’t forget to tag us on your socials #storyofmydressbride . We just can not wait to the pics of you!
If you need inspiration then head on over to our Real Bride section to hear all about
their journeys and see how bloody beautiful they all looked.

One for our alternative brides! An edgy wedding shoot for "the ladies that dare to be different, that dare to not conform, that dare to push the boundaries". This wedding shoot was based at the Old Brewery for that rustic setting.
Laura had some beautiful words to say about SOMD "Our dress supplier Story of my Dress is an amazing company offering beautiful bridal separates and wedding dresses inspired by their original vintage collection. This gives their stylish brides a perfect selection of alternative bridal designs to choose from. A quote on their website which I loved states that “Nothing about you is traditional, so nothing about us is either” The dresses they provided for the shoot speak for themselves, elegant, stylish and beautiful".

Molly made an incredible 7 hour round trip to come and see us at SOMD! Molly choose a Rolling in Roses called 'Hydra', the dress of dreams. It’s not hard to see why, with its delicate, web-like star lace across a deep v-neck and keyhole back bodice, falling to a lovely train.
Molly commented on her experience -“The team at Story of My Dress were so lovely. Rolling in Roses design and create ethical and eco-friendly wedding dresses, and make them by hand in Yorkshire. So, that was that! I think it was truly meant to be, and I walked out with that dress, and carried it on the train home with me that day. It was such a relief!”.

There is no better place then being by the sea! A romantic, modern and cool wedding at the seaside in Whitstable, Kent. Leila wore the most beautiful Rolling in Roses gown with a 'secret garden' theme. Leila's dress was perfectly customised to suit her style with lace sleeves and a scalloped open back... simply stunning!
Our bride Lauren found us at the A Most Curious Wedding Fair in London and we are so glad she did! Here is what Lauren had to say - “Having tried loads of dresses, I was starting to doubt what I wanted but then came across Cara’s stall at A Most Curious wedding Fair and was immediately drawn to the rails. When I found out she had a little boutique down in Kent and could do bespoke dresses too, I managed to convince my mum to drive me down one Saturday and never looked back. Best decision ever.”
Lauren had a bespoke dress made, and the end result was so beautiful – backless with a guipure lace bodice and long sleeves and a simple and stylish skirt, complete with embroidery on the back, too.
