The best wedding outfit shouldn't make you feel like you've been dressed up as somebody else's idea of a bride. It should still feel like you.

This is one of the biggest differences between Story of My Dress and a traditional bridal boutique.
We're not simply ordering your wedding dress from a designer in the closest standard size and then sending you elsewhere to have it altered.
We make it for you.
Your dress is created to your individual measurements in our Kent studio, with your fittings and alterations included within the price.
That means no worrying about whether you're a bridal size 10, 14, 18 or 22.
It's your dress.
We're making it for your body.
Found something you nearly love? Let's change it.
This is probably our favourite part.
You might try one of our dresses and love the skirt but want a completely different neckline.
You might want sleeves.
No sleeves.
A higher neck.
A lower back.
More volume.
Less volume.
A longer train.
A mini version.

Because we design and make our own collection, we're able to do things differently.
Our existing wedding dresses can be customised, or we can work with you on a completely bespoke wedding dress.

Modern bridal separates for 2027
We're also big believers in bridal separates.
A top and skirt can feel much more like getting dressed than putting on a traditional wedding gown - and that's exactly why some of our brides love them.
Corsets, high-neck tops, skirts, overlays and detachable pieces give you the freedom to create something individual and change your look throughout the wedding without buying three completely unrelated outfits.

We're based in West Malling, Kent, just outside London.
Our bridal appointments are relaxed and personal, with time to actually work out what feels right rather than trying to squeeze you into a predetermined bridal aesthetic.
You can try our collection, play with different combinations and talk to us about changing a design.

From design and pattern cutting through to construction and fittings, our dresses come to life in our studio.
For us, British-made wedding dresses aren't about being traditional.

Making locally gives us the freedom to be creative.

We can fit things properly.
