Story of My Dress designs and our designer lines are all made to order, slow fashion and not mass-produced, therefore you can not be too organised when ordering your dress! The dresses on our rail will not be the ones that you purchase, they will be a dress customised and made for you.

When should I start looking at dresses?

The ideal time to start looking is 9-12 months before your wedding. Aiming to make a decision and order 6-8 months before.

What should I consider when looking for a wedding dress or separates?

We are an appointment-only service, so it’s important to secure your date sooner, rather than later! We get extremely busy and do not want to turn you away. Think about your price range/timescale and let us know before your appointment so that we pick the dresses to your budget and timescale.

How long does it take from order to collection at SOMD?

Our designer collections can take up to 6-7 months from order to delivery. Rush fees are available but not always.

Our own designs take 4 months.

Love in the City can be made between 6-8 weeks.

Our sister company Renew Bridal holds ex-samples, which can be purchased and taken away on the day.

Alterations take between 6-8 weeks.
