Original Vintage & Designer Sample Sale at Story of My Dress One Day Only - 14th June

We’re opening the rails for something a little different this June.

For one day only, Story of My Dress will be offering a carefully selected collection of original vintage wedding dresses, past designer samples and one-off pieces, with most dresses priced at £500 or under.

This is not a traditional bridal appointment experience, and it’s important brides understand that before booking.

Who This Sample Sale Is For

This event is designed for brides who already know their style.

Brides who:

• know the silhouette they suit

• are open minded on details

• are happy to compromise for value

• have a shorter timeframe

• love the idea of vintage or one-off fashion

• want a designer look without a designer price tag

  
  

This is not the right appointment if you’re just starting your dress search and want to explore lots of different styles for the first time.

The dresses available are existing pieces and samples. They are not made-to-measure from scratch in the same way as our main collection.

What Will Be Available

The collection includes:

• original vintage wedding dresses

• designer sample gowns

• archive Story of My Dress designs

• one-off pieces no longer available

• dresses ideal for redesigning or modernising

Some are beautifully simple already. Others are full of potential.

Think:

• changing necklines

• adding sleeves

• removing trims

• shortening hemlines

• modernising silhouettes

• adapting vintage details into something more contemporary

As always, all alterations and redesign work would be carried out in our Kent studio by our in-house team.

Important Sizing Information

The majority of dresses available are between UK sizes 8–12.

Because these are existing dresses and vintage pieces, sizing is limited and availability cannot be guaranteed.

Short Notice Brides Welcome

If your wedding is coming up quickly, this could be the perfect option.

Unlike our made-to-measure bridal collection which requires a minimum six month production timeline  these dresses already exist and can often be altered far more quickly depending on the work required.

A More Sustainable Way to Shop Bridal

There’s also something really special about giving an existing dress a second life.

Whether it’s an original vintage gown or a past designer sample, reworking and redesigning dresses is one of the most sustainable ways to shop for your wedding.

Appointments are essential, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
